  • Bar supported overdenture in severely resorbed maxilla

    12/Nov/2018
This case presentation video addresses the restoration of a severely resorbed maxilla with a bar retained implant overdenture on 2 implants. The difficulty in that case was to find the appropriate tri-dimensional bone volume to place these two implants. The final outcome brought back function, aesthetics and played a major psychological role in her daily life.

  • Implant placed fresh extraction site: the molar case

    28/Nov/2018
Immediate implant placement in fresh extraction molar sites can be very challenging because of the necessity of finding proper bone achorange for implant positioning, size of the residual defect and quality of osseointegration, need or no to submerge the implant, and the long term stability in function. This presentation , indications will be defined in light of various clinical case scenarios, the surgical approach detailed , the per and post operative potential complications presented and the soft and hard peri-implant tissues explored based on our experience and the current literature

  • Importance of Implant Macrogeometery and surface texture Part 1 . Webinar

    19/Dec/2018
Implant success is essentially dependent on the therapeutic aesthetic and functional outcomes. Implant macrogeometry is one of the factors that has been related to the peri-implant hard and soft tissue stability.Recent clinical and experimental work have demonstrated better results can be obtained when platform shifting, microgooves and conical seal and limited highly polished collar are added to the marginal implant configuration. The purpose of this presentation is to introduce a intra patient prospective cohort study  that evaluates  peri-implant bone stability and prevalence of peri-implantitis around implants with different macrogeometries and surface texture placed in similar clinical situations in the same patients.

  • Reconstructive and conservative approaches in the treatment of one patient

    04/Jan/2019
In this case presentation the patient suffers from a severely deficient maxilla and mandible and inter arch discrepancy . The maxilla was treated with advanced reconstructive procedures ( Sinus Lift and GBR ) and implant supported fixed hybrid  prosthesis. The mandible was treated with implants placed lateral to the inferior alveolar nerve and a fixed prosthesis

  • MAXILLARY IMPLANTS AVOIDING THE SINUS

    17/Feb/2019

In this case presentation, the patient suffered from a failed dentition in the maxilla and is planned to be restored with an implant retained fixed hybrid denture. This video demonstrates the step-by-step approach of the implant placement in the maxilla, including a titled implant to avoid the sinus. Plaster impression was taken immediately after surgery and an immediate temporary metal-acrylic denture was fixed to the implants.

  • Is Sinus Lift an Absolute Necessity ?

    13/Jun/2019
In this Webinar Pr. Barakat addresses the conditions necessitating the use of alternatives to sinus lift procedure. The Alternatives presented are in accordance to the modern trend of the minimal invasive surgery concept, some alternatives namely the tuberosity implant can be used by all

  • Current approaches on the management of periimplantitis

    09/Oct/2019
Peri implantitis is a very frequent complication of implant treatment that may lead ultimately to implant loss. Its main etiology is infection caused by the biofilm. it can be prosthetically or surgically induced and the reaction may be modulated by the individual immune system  This presentation reviews the concepts related to the etiopathogenicity of peri-implantitis and present the current treatments proposed to manage the situation

  • PTERYGOID IMPLANTS IN THE TREATMENT OF TOTALLY AND PARTIALLY EDENTULOUS MAXILLA

    11/Mar/2020

Pterygoid implants are an old therapeutic option for the treatment of atrophic posterior maxilla that is often overlooked in today’s treatment options. This lecture addresses the perceived anatomical risk that is often associated with this procedure and tries to elucidate the controversies on the subject. It will expose the scientific documentation of the procedure and will present the modern approach in using the pterygoid implant for the rehabilitation of totally and partially edentulous patients. The place of guided surgery in performing this procedure is also discussed.

  • Autogenous Block Graft in congenitally missing laterals

    21/Sep/2018
The patient is a 17-year-old female with congenitally missing maxillary lateral incisors.  An Autogenous block graft harvested from the retro-molar area was completed on both sites with the concomitant extraction of impacted mandibular third molar. Implant placement was placed 5 months post-op in a challenging interdental width proximity and final prosthetic rehabilitation was completed with screw retained Porcelain fused to metal crowns.
